Meet Philippa Gibson

Philippa is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH).
She has many years' experience as an occupational hygiene principal and inspector with the New Zealand health and safety regulator, including health risk investigation, expert witness and prosecution.
Plus, many years consulting experience in a wide range of workplaces particularly military.
She is a Fellow and past president of the New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society and past Board Member of the International Occupational Hygiene Association.
She is an experienced teacher of the International Occupational Hygiene Training Association (OHTA) courses, and has many years experience teaching occupational health assessment and investigation to WorkSafe inspectors. 

What Is Occupational Hygiene?

Occupational Hygiene is the discipline of anticipating, recognising, evaluating and controlling health risks in the working environment with the objective of protecting worker health and well-being and safeguarding the community at large. Health risks include chemicals such as solvents, fumes, gases, food additives (substances hazardous to health); physical health risks such as noise, heat, light, vibration, ionising radiation (where energy radiates from a source and can cause adverse health effects); biological (bacteria, fungi, viruses).
